Recent Results from MPE-3D
Venus at 2.2 microns.
This
is a preliminary mosaic of the night side of Venus. We obtained the data
using MPE-3D at the Anglo-Australian Telescope in December, 1997.
Assembling this mosaic required 112 individual 3D fields, each 6.4 arcseconds
square. The day side is the saturated crescent on the right side of the
mosaic; it appears dark on the right side of the terminator as an artifact
of over-exposure.
