6570 X-ray source RX J1730.7+4906 = QSO 1729+491 (= 4C 49.29) in revised
error circle; X-ray source also seen in BeppoSAX NFI
Results of follow-up observations
- ROSAT HRI image taken on August 31, 1996
A total of 8 X-ray sources with likelihood greater than 7 have been found
within the GRB error box.
- BeppoSAX
MECS/LECS images
- V band image of the SAX/ASCA source position
The large circle represents the 1 arcmin error radius of the X-ray source
detected with BeppoSAX MECS/LECS and ASCA, while the small circles represent
10 arcsec error radii of the ROSAT HRI sources. The two sources at the bottom
are Seyfert galaxies (optical spectra see below). The source at the very top
is the z=1.7 QSO reported in IAUC 6526.
- Optical spectra of
RX J1729.5+4904 and
RX J1729.3+4904. Note that the flux calibration is
still preliminary, especially at the blue end.
- Optical spectrum of
RX J1729.4+4906 as reported in IAUC 6526.
