From Munich (downtown)

Public Transport

Subway U6 direction Garching-Forschungszentrum (travelling time approx. 25 minutes).

By Car

Take Autobahn Munich, direction Nürnberg / Airport, and leave at exit "Garching Nord". Follow the signs leading to "Forschungsgelände" and to the single Institutes. The entry to the MPE is at the IPP gate.

From Munich Airport

Public Transport

Take the S-Bahn S8 direction Herrsching that runs every 20 minutes. Leave at third stop : Ismaning. Then take Bus no. 230 to Garching Forschungszentrum (last stop). Proceed through the IPP gate to MPE. (Total time approx. 20 min.)

On weekends / holidays / evening stay in the S-Bahn until downtown Marienplatz and then use the U-Bahn U6 (see above).

By Car

Take Autobahn direction Munich. Leave at exit "Garching Nord" and
follow signs to "Forschungsgelände" and institutes (MPE : Entry IPP gate).

By Taxi

Costs for the taxi are about 40 Euro.
